Anche l’Andos di Velletri ha partecipato, lo scorso venerdì 8 marzo, all’importante convegno sui tumori femminili che si è svolto presso l’Istituto Nazionale Tumori “Regina Elena” di Roma. I titoli delle due tematiche in discussione “L’immagine ritrovata: la centralità della qualità della vita della paziente oncologia” e “Il percorso riabilitativo della donna giovane: istruzioni per l’uso”.
La finalità del convegno, svoltosi appositamente il giorno della festa delle donne, è stata quella di far cadere il velo da tante pseudo-verità che circolano sulla qualità della vita di un malato oncologico e di un ex malato oncologico, il cui numero, per fortuna, cresce enormemente. Al primo punto del programma, la qualità della vita del malato oncologico, ovvero l’esigenza di mantenere standard di vita cosiddetti “normali” che permettano ai pazienti di discostarsi il meno possibile dalla vita quotidiana che hanno vissuto fino al minuto prima la scoperta della malattia. L’intervento dei medici e soprattutto degli psicologi è fondamentale. Al secondo punto, la prevenzione dei tumori femminili, l’arma più potente per poter affrontare nel migliori dei modi la malattia. Scoprire in tempo una neoplasia significa avere maggiori possibilità di sopravvivere e vincere, contro una malattia, che, se non presa in tempo, potrebbe non lasciare scampo. A questo si aggiungono le accresciute possibilità di poter affrontare una gravidanza dopo l’eventuale trattamento tramite chemioterapia o radioterapia. Il numero delle donne che possano affrontare una gravidanza dopo la malattia è in crescita, ne è testimone Sara di 36 anni, partecipante al convegno e associata del nostro comitato Andos di Velletri, che ha voluto dare la sua testimonianza, portando con sè la sua Agnese di 5 mesi, è stata la prova che la vita si può riprendere dove si era stata interrotta. Particolare rilevanza alla testimonianza di Sara è stata data con parole toccanti dal “Messaggero” nell’articolo relativo al convegno. Il percorso di guarigione prevede, come abbiamo accennato, anche trattamenti che portano con se disagi fisici, malesseri forti ma anche disagi psicologici, non meno importanti, che devono essere prontamente affrontati dai terapisti e dagli psicologi. Il sostegno psico-fisico è indispensabile per poter affrontare la malattia e fondamentale per combatterlo. La presidente dell’Andos comitato di Velletri, Ombretta Colonnelli, è intervenuta per parlare della sua esperienza personale e per spiegare l’importanza dei comitati che diffondono informazione e danno sostegno a tante donne. Il convegno si è aperto con il collegamento con l’istituto “Fondazione Pascale” di Napoli, che ha affrontato, in contemporanea, lo stesso tipo di tematiche.
